How does the planner work it out?

Everything happens in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to us or stored. Your landing time is read as Bali time (WITA, UTC+8). Each step is then placed on the calendar using the rules below. Times are shown in Bali time and in the time zone you choose, which defaults to your device's.

Assumptions and limits

  • Day counting. We count your arrival day as day 1, so day 30 is 29 days after you land. This is our cautious reading. GOV.UK and the immigration pages we could read do not say how the days are counted; several Indonesian university visa notes do say it this way.
  • e-VOA price. The cost shown is the visa-on-arrival price from GOV.UK. The eVisa site shows the final online price, including any payment charges, before you pay.
  • Apply-by date. GOV.UK advises applying at least a week before you leave. We count back from your landing date, so allow extra days if your journey is long.
  • Who qualifies. The planner does not check which passports can use the visa on arrival, and the passport rule shown is the one GOV.UK gives for British passports. Check your passport on theofficial eVisa site.
  • Extension fee. Not shown: we could not verify it on an official page.
  • Levy timing. "By the day before you land" is our suggestion. Love Bali encourages paying before departure, and you can also pay on arrival.
